The name Laurel and Hardy specifically refers to a comedic duo of a skinny-prissy/fat-boisterous nature, but for simplicity's sake this section also can include any duo of characters intended solely for comic relief.

Examples

  • Final Fantasy VIII: Biggs and Wedge, the generic incompetent Galbadian army solders. Sacred and Minitaur, the silly GFs. Fujin and Raijin, Seifer's sidekicks with speech impediments.
  • Suikoden III: Rhett and Wilder, the goofy, often out-of-their-depth duck couple.
  • Xenosaga Episode II: Richard and Hermann are not exactly comic relief, but one of their mechs is skinny and the other is fat, so I'm counting it.
