Since teenagers are the only people allowed to be protagonists in RPGs, they also have to frequently put up with older (20+) people telling them how ignorant, fragile, unsuitable, and sheltered they are because They're Just Children. Of course, this doesn't stop those same protagonists from pulling the same shit on people younger than they are.

- Grandia II: Ryudo loses his goddamn mind over a little girl being possessed by Valmar because she's a tiny delicate flower. Barf.
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Twink is just some kid! Ganondorf blatantly ignores him in favor of chasing after Zelda, though she is also just some kid.
- Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: Ditto this Twink. He is called a kid by Tetra, who can't be any older than him.
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Cody Hackins, the witch who can walk on grass and witnessed a murder, is so delicate that Edgeworth is worried Phoenix's harsh defense attorney words might scar him for life.
- Suikoden II: Barry, Jowy, and Nanami are treated as Just Kids long after all three of them have proven themselves in combat and leadership roles among people much older and more experienced than they are. Nanami in particular is always treated as a child on par with the six-year-old girl she babysits.
- Suikoden III: Hugo is also treated like a baby, mostly by Sarge and his mother. But he's dumb so he completely deserves it.
Other Notes
- Final Fantasy VIII: This trope is subverted, since the entire world prefers to hire mercenary teenagers to carry out their masterful secret missions.
