| − | She doesn't speak, isn't a playable character and has little relevance to the plot, but I just had to include her on the cast page as she's so damn cute. Honey provides a number of services for her owner, Momo, including sweeping the floor and guiding her through ancient space stations, and also saves Miss Piggy's wretched life. I'm starting to think that's a fucking requirement for being a character in this game. | + | She doesn't speak, isn't a playable character and has little relevance to the plot, but I just had to include her on the cast page as she's so damn cute. Major characters
Ryu
|
Nickname(s): | Alfalfa, Alf |
| First Appearance: | Part 1 |
Ryu is a baby dragon that was sleeping soundly in his Chrysm egg until it was blown up by two hapless miners (see above) and he was forced to go on a homicidal rampage. He's just a victim of circumstance. Now, he is just trying to fit in as a human child and takes out his aggression on all the woodland creatures. Some things never change, do they?
Rei
|
Nickname(s): | Crouching Tiger, CT |
| First Appearance: | Part 1 |
Rei is an excessively creepy tiger that collects naked Pokéchildren and tries desperately to hide his more frightening abilities with an upbeat attitude. Don't that just beat all?
Teepo
|
Nickname(s): | none |
| First Appearance: | Part 1 |
Teepo is JUST LIKE RYU. Except more feminine and more inclined to being evil. More on this as events warrant.
Nina
|
Nickname(s): | Miss Piggy |
| First Appearance: | Part 3 |
A delightful ball of pudge swaddled in pink, Nina is the crown Princess of Wyndia. In a heretofore unprecedented turn of events, Nina runs away from the tedium of Princessdom to pursue the more fulfilling endeavor of endangering herself and others on a daily basis. Oh, don't mind me, I'm just weeping for humanity.
Garr
|
Nickname(s): | none |
| First Appearance: | Part 4 |
Nothing is known about Garr as of yet, except that he's big and scary-looking and is planning to participate in Bonnie and Clydesdale's mysterious Contest. Rest assured, though, that we'll learn a lot more about him in the near future. For example, what possessed him to wear purple. It so clashes with his scaly orangey-brown skin!
Momo
|
Nickname(s): | none |
| First Appearance: | Part 4 |
Momo is a female scientist RPG character. Therefore she is more than a little dorky, likes shooting things, keeps a pet robot, and creams herself whenever she's within a ten-foot radius of anything electrical or gadgety. Nope, no tired clichés here!
Other characters
Mogu
|
Nickname(s): | DooRag |
| First Appearance: | Part 1 |
Mogu is an exposition fairy that gets burnt to a crisp within the first five minutes of the game. His presence in this game is due entirely to the fact that he was a playable character in the original Breath of Fire.
Gary
|
Nickname(s): | Overalls |
| First Appearance: | Part 1 |
Gary is the other exposition fairy that gets burnt to a crisp within the first five minutes of the game. He was also a character in the first Breath of Fire, under the Americanized alias of Bo. At last, the Aerith/Aeris fanboys have something new to argue about.
Bunyan
|
Nickname(s): | Hagrid |
| First Appearance: | Part 1 |
Bunyan tries to do right by our three heroes by teaching them the difference between right and wrong, but comes off as a shaggy old sexual predator. We've all known guys like this. Also, he likes wood. A lot.
Balio
|
Nickname(s): | Bonnie |
| First Appearance: | Part 3 |
Balio and his brother Sunder work as hired thugs for a global crime network and use their child-beating "talents" to revenge McNeil's more frivolous expenditures, like hookers and booze. Apparently, the two also moonlight as nightclub magicians, because they not only make Rei and Teepo disappear faster than Squall's libido at an All-Girl Revue, they can presto-changeo even the most dynamic scenes into a roaring snoozefest in nothing flat.
Sunder
|
Nickname(s): | Clydesdale |
| First Appearance: | Part 3 |
Sunder is a sweet, simple guy, deep down, but he hides his sensitivity under a layer of bluster and studded leather. He wants to someday leave the mob to become a successful writer and illustrator of children's books, but for now, he follows his brother around because he doesn't want to be all alone in the world. Awww.
Honey
|
Nickname(s): | none |
| First Appearance: | Part 4 |
She doesn't speak, isn't a playable character and has little relevance to the plot, but I just had to include her on the cast page as she's so damn cute. Honey provides a number of services for her owner, Momo, including sweeping the floor and guiding her through ancient space stations, and also saves Miss Piggy's wretched life. I'm starting to think that's a fucking requirement for being a character in this game.
