Hope you all have had a nice holiday, and received all the PSN outage time your hearts desired.

After some holiday time of my own with no opportunity to write anything, there should be some new recaps soon. Layton vs. Wright Open Thread

We’re gonna have a lot to say about this game at some point, but for now here’s an open thread so we can talk about it and to pass the time until I’m done with this goddamn double recap.

I have three main thoughts so far:

1) Every name in this game is fucking terrible (CARMINE ACCIDENTI!!!!!);

2) This is basically the plot of Fushigi Yuugi;

Hoping to have a new recap finished before I go on vacation next week. In the meantime! How about an open thread about what you all are playing at the moment? Or about whatever you feel like talking about, in case anybody has another novel’s worth of comments about Final Fantasy VII in them. (I kid. It was only a novella’s worth.)

As for me, I’ve been playing:

Mario Kart 8. Are you playing Mario Kart? You should really be playing Mario Kart.

Hearthstone. I do not recommend reading any forums about this game. The posts are a perfect distillation of the worst whining from both Magic and WoW players. It’s gruesome.

Sims 3. I don’t even know why, but I started a neighborhood of Game of Thrones characters. The Starks are basically the Duggars.

If you haven’t taken a moment today to read about the greatest wedding in history, please do so. I’ve had an epiphany.

Consider the following facts of the Kimye union:

– The venue was the Forte di Belvedere, an elegant “castle” that is, in reality, a military fortification.

– The wedding was presided over by black marble naked man statues.

– One major stumbling block for the wedding was a spotlight shining on a woman’s crotch.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY:

– The dinner table was a slab of marble with names engraved onto it, many of them misspelled.

There’s just no way around it. Kanye and Kim had a Suikoden-themed wedding.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy Open Thread

I don’t even know how many of you are into the Layton series. I just wanted to share this:

1) These two are Luke’s parents;
2) This outfit, termed “vintage hipster Rinoa” by Jeanne, was designed by Luke, only to serve as the world’s most ridiculous boner stoker for his own father.
