    Wahoo!

I honestly forget Fred and Rico ever joined during this segment. And I’ll have to try out Estella and maybe even poor, stupid, gullible Rody at some point in a later playthrough.

And then I realize that a male version of Alma Kinan would be too much fan pandering for even this series.

I feel like “Too Much Fan Pandering For Even This Series” should’ve been Suikoden V’s subtitle. (I still adore it, though.)

This was pretty amazing. I am kind of surprised that there weren’t any mentions of lesyay in here with Chris and Yun, though, but I do love how basically everyone but Chris turned into an annoying fucktard in here. The Rody and Estella side story was just golden. I can’t wait until the next recap, whatever t may be!

Yun is 13, which weirded me out juuuuuuust enough not to go there. Except to mention that I thought the full moon shining on them was inappropriate. 🙂

I always forget how old characters are supposed to be in this series, especially since she was never referred to a a kid or child. 😉 But I see your point, and now I will feel sympathetic squick whenever I see that pairing on the fanfic sites I troll. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Chris turn to lesbianism when she finds out all the men “lusting” after her are already in each others’ pants. Who will the lucky lady be then? Lily?

Well, it’s canon that Chris and Lilly hate each other, so…yes, obviously. Ditto Lucia. If we’re looking for someone a shade less in the foe-yay area, I think Yumi and/or Yuiri would eventually happily ride that silver pony.

“…eventually happily ride that silver pony.” I died. That is just epic.

(Hey. I’m new here. Been lurking for a while, but finally made an account so I could comment on recaps. Love this site.)

Estella’s looking for a place called Grodius Village? Isn’t that a place from Suikoden V? If I’m thinking of the right place, then boy, her information sure is a bit… off. First off, that place isn’t even really a town, it’s a training camp for Dragon Calvary recruits. On top of that, I do believe that Suikoden III takes place quite a long while after Suikoden V, and at the end of V, the Dragon Calvary opened their ranks to women, so Grodius ought to have plenty of chicks in it at this point. Poor Estella. If she’s serious about wanting to find it (probably because she thinks it’s a town populated solely by handsome young gay men that she can ogle every day), she is going to be sorely disappointed.

I was also going to comment on how you didn’t talk about the extremely thick yuri vibes between Chris and Yun, but then I saw your comment mentioning how the latter was 13, and now I understand why you avoided touching on that, because yeah, ick.

In any case, this was an excellent recap. There were plenty of parts that had me in stitches. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next one. Until then, toodles!

You’re totally right about Gordius Village, nice catch. (I’m not to the Dragon Cavalry in my V replay yet, no wonder I forgot about it.)

      1. Accidentally The Sun

Funny, I always found Gordious one of the most unforgettable parts of the series. Especially because it’s Suikoden V’s version of Alma Kinan, except instead of Everybody Wants To Fuck Chris, it’s Everybody Wants To Fuck Rahal.

I have a feeling, when you and Jeanne reach that moment in the recap of SV in the next millenium, it will be another of those epic recaps along the lines of the pond scene, Yunalesca, and everything Ace Attorney. 🙂
