Sweet! More Junior stuff I can shake my head at!
This is the only incarnation of KH I actually care about.
You know, I don’t remember that part with the books AT ALL. I must have blocked it out. Still, my favorite part was this section:
There is no rose petal-covered canopy bed up here, or even a boombox playing Boyz II Men, so Riku really could have prepared better. You think I’m kidding, but he goes on, “We’ve always been rivals, haven’t we? You’ve always pushed me, as I’ve always pushed you.” They pushed against each other so hard their wieners were sore! I mean, wow, you guys. I’m not a fan of any Junior-based pairing other than Junior/Dying Alone in a Nursing Home, but I can’t just sit here and ignore this. They’re addressing each other during a beautiful sunset, on opposite sides of an arch that may as well be inside a dank wedding chapel. Jesus Christ.
Sadly, I think Riku/Sora is the only viable couple in this whole mess (other than more Seifer/Squally in my imaginary version of KH2).
I do wonder if you guys plan to take on the myriad of portable games in this franchise. I wouldn’t want to, even though Birth by Sleep is way more palatable than the original.
No plans to take on any of the other games other than the sequel. I don’t even own half of them.
I look forward to how you’ll react to Aerith-Aeris’ new outfit in KH2. Looks stupid, sounds stupid – like she got a lobotomy. I guess my favorite part in the recap…

Only a few pages in, but loving it so far.
Damn, I’m really late, but I’ve just finished catching up. Awesome recap – it’s making me want to give KH another try just to experience all this fucked-up shit firsthand. Favourite parts are the extract demidaemon quoted, and this:
“I swear, if I get out of this scene alive, I’m going to live my life differently. I’ll finally read War and Peace. I’ll be a better person.”
I’ve made many similar promises to the videogame gods.
