What’s up Wednesday

I never got into Camp DS, so I don’t know if something really awesome came out for the Gameboy recently, but over here in Wii-ville, I’ve been having a heck of a time keeping myself busy since I beat Mario Galaxy.

I mean, I totally gave in to nostalgia and bought Mario 64 for the Virtual Console and am loving the rusty shopping cart controls (they make Luigi Galaxy seem so easy — oop, spoiler alert!), but life just seems so EMPTY while waiting for the March 9 release of Brawl.

What kind of games have all y’all found to keep you busy this February? Anything you want to share with the class?

I’ve been addicted to Mass Effect and Oblivion lately. Also my DS has been well abused from Phoenix Wright.

Last month, I wouldn’t have had an answer, since I hardly buy games anymore. But just recently I splurged for Half-Life 2’s Orange Box collection and the Command & Conquer First Decade compilations. Together they came to about $4 per game. Half-Life 2 alone ate up almost a couple weeks (not counting the additional episodes), so I expect this little investment to last me a while.

I’ve had Oblivion for a while, but somehow it didn’t quite yank me in the way Morrowind did. Guess I’m some kind of freak.

I’ve been keeping busy with Shadow Hearts 3, which I need to beat soon in time for when Wild Arms 5 reaches our shores.

I’ve also started Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs the Souless Army. Yes, that is the longest videogame title known to man.

It basically is a detective game with aspects of pokémon and a gothic persons LJ. It’s fun, even though I can only play it an hour at a time as I get frustrated with it.

I just bought Disgaea 2 today for $10 down from $80, but probably won’t feel like playing it for awhile.

I also can’t wait until Super Smash Bros. Brawl to come out.

I’ve been playing Bioshock lately on my new PC. Seeing as it’s the only one for PC I have, I don’t have much other choice. I have been playing Guitar Hero 3 and Oblivion occasionally though. I’ll pass on Brawl though, they didn’t put CD-i Link in there! /sarcasm

Get No More Heroes for Wii. It’ll definitely hold you over until Brawl is released. It’s an action game with Zelda-ish elements and a GTA-like overworld. There’s no wanted levels though, meaning you can run over all the people you want without having to worry about those pesky cops. It also makes good use of the Wii remote and is a blast to play.

Portal is indeed awesome. It’s rather short (I managed to finish it in one extended sitting) and only a couple of the levels really stumped me for any length of time, but the whole concept is just a blast.

I wouldn’t say the cake is a lie. More like a morbid half-truth.

EBA/Ouendan1&2 [most addicting games known to man]. I just beat Assassins Creed…um. I’ve been slogging my way through Folklore? Oh, Uncharted, too. But mostly I’ve been playing through my old games [Xeno, Suikoden, jak, ff, zelda, etc] or fiddling with something obsessively on my DS.

Morrowind. It’s been keeping me busy, although my niece had me playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney nonstop when I was in Maryland last weekend.

  9. Rydia

I’ve been, once again, sucked in by Tales of Symphonia. I swear, that game consumes my soul. Ninth play through in less than fourteen months.

Also, the DS is receiving much love with me playing random cases in all the Phoenix Wrights. I imagine that it will be receiving even more love by the end of the month…

Been playing FFT on the PSP, mostly – Alternating it with Castlevania, which is so AMAZINGLY hard…..gah.

    But yeah, I had to pack up all my console games ;o;

  11. CTrunks

I’m playing WoW, New Super Mario Brothers, SSB: Melee, and to a lesser extent FFXII: Revenent Wings/Twilight Princess.

  12. KatKit

PW:T&T, Professor Layton and the Curious Village (BEST PUZZLE GAME EVAR), and sporadic bouts of GH3 with my sister.

  13. Kuriboh

I played TP already, but I really want to play it again. Maybe I’ll buy it for myself for my birthday or something.

I can’t believe I forgot the Gayest Game to EVER exist. Anywhere. Hands down. I’m surprised my poor ds didn’t explode from HOMOSEXUALITY the moment I popped this lovely bit of crack inside it:

-Freshly Picked, Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland!!! (Exclamation marks represent the gay.)

Yes, a Tingle Game. Need I say more?
